Nice article on our trip! Much appreciated for the hometown support!
No, he’s not from the TV show, Cheers, but he’s been a long time Chevy owner. Remember this post about him?
In this quick video, Sam tells us about his truck, visiting Michigan and about Southern Hospitality….
Just because Team Lansing has arrived in Austin, doesn’t mean the stories stop!
We’ll be posting more about our adventures here. Plus I’m sure we’ll get lots of good stories in Austin and our drive home.
Stay tuned… More coming!
Get it ON!

Team Lansing completed Challenge 27 - take a picture with a cowboy!
Not only did we get our picture taken with a cowboy, but we played Bear, Ninja, Cowboy!

For Challenge 26, Team Lansing was tasked with cleaning up a local park.
Some of the team cleaned while others waited for their shift to begin.

For Challenge #25, we had to have one member of the team get a temporary tattoo of our team hashtag, #lanchevysxsw
And in honor of Texas, we went big and had not one, but 2 team members get tattoos!
Tiffany Wood brings the finger guns tattoos a-blazing.

Betsy Weber gets the classic tattoo across her knuckles.
![]()
Bonus points for 2 sets of tattoos?
Oh, the places you’ll go! On our trip, we got to see a good portion of the United States!
We visited the crossroads of the US in Indiana.

After that we headed through the Land of Lincoln in Illinois.

We played some air guitar in Tennessee.

We lounged around in Arkansas (they had the nicest Welcome Center on the trip. Fireplace FTW)

And, lastly, we messed with Texas.

Challenge 23 for Team Lansing was to get a Pez dispenser that represents a state we pass through.
We got the King of Pez in Memphis, Tennessee! Jumpsuit Elvis FTW!
![]()
Sadly the giant Pez does not come with giant Pez candy!
Bonus points for a Pez dispenser that sings?!
For our next challenge, we had to find and get a pic of the most rundown place that offers Wifi.
We found this beauty in a blown out polebarn in Rockwall, Texas!

Homerun! Team Lansing knocked Challenges 18, 19, 20, and 21 out of the park!
Here are magnets from the states we drove thru.
![]()
We also picked up tacky postcards and 10 brochures of activities and adventures.
![]()
And, last but not least, we slid into home base with 5 small town newspapers.
![]()
Who wants us to mail them a postcard?
Oh, we’ll mess with Texas. And, they’ll like it!
For Challenge 17 we had to ‘Mess with Texas.’ But, we couldn’t break the law.
Team Lansing calls Shenanigans on the *whole* state of Texas! Oh, and we’ll throw in some downward ‘hook ‘em horns’ too.

Bonus shot - We will wear your capital as a hat.
![]()
Texas - take heed! Don’t mess with the Mitten (aka Michigan)!
Team Lansing rolled into the Sulphur Springs, Texas Goodwill to literally donate the shirt off our backs to complete Challenge 16.

Also, thanks to Ari Adler, Becky Johns and Delta Dental for the toothbrushes! They kept Team Lansing’s smiles bright and shiny plus we donated some to the Sulphur Springs Goodwill!

Team Lansing had our finger guns blazing for our Challenge 15!
Kyle Mulka and Betsy Weber had their picture taken with a police officer.
No laws were broken for this picture!

Team Lansing has been practicing for months for Arm Wrestling challenge. We had to arm wrestle a diner chef and WIN!
For Challenge 14, all that practice paid off for team member Kyle Mulka! Fame and glory!
Oh, and I love the diner manager strong-arming her employees!
BOOM goes the dynamite!
Team Lansing wrapped up another challenge in Carlilse, Arkansas.
We visited the Sonic drive-thru (technically a drive in). Our challenge was to pay for the meals of people in the two cars behind you….
People were happy to have dinner on us, but they both asked, ‘Why would you do that?!’ To which we responded , “Why wouldn’t we?!”
Here’s a video of one of the guys we bought dinner for. Check out his cool 1983 Chevy pick-up truck with over 200,000 miles.
Who’s got the best beard in Prescott, Arkansas? This guy!
![]()
And, he told me he “didn’t have a beard anymore” as he had just cut it off after growing it for two years!
Challenge 12 is complete! Devise awesome awards for strangers. Done and done!
We also gave out awards for ‘The Best Earrings in Arkansas” and “The Best Samantha Ever”
